A week ago, we were able to pick up an ultrasound machine in the Malagasy capital of Antananarivo. Larissa Goldiger, a medical student from Basel, collected donations for this purpose. With a contribution from Verein Nihaona, the device could now be purchased.
It arrived in Maventibao on Tuesday. Larissa, who is currently volunteering at MadaClinics, is now introducing Nurse Fardine to the device. Midwife Monia is already familiar with it, but is currently absent because of her pregnancy.
Among other things, the ultrasound machine will improve diagnostics and pregnancy examinations. Fardine will also complete a supplementary course in Madagascar.
